Aysa Morehead is very happy to be a part of Empowered Body Studios programming as the vocal performance instructor.  She earned a BA in Liberal Arts concentrating in Theatre from Austin College, then completed her post-graduate work at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (NYC) in Musical Theatre.  She has studied and performed styles from Opera to Jazz to Blues and Rock.  For all styles, breath and technique are central, performance is more than sounding pretty.   Aysa performed in the European Tour of Hair directed by writer James Rado, the National Tour of Oliver! and Little Shop of Horrors in Lake Tahoe. She co-starred as Yitzach in Hedwig and the Angry Inch (while 7 months pregnant) at the Water Street Music Hall, and was a featured performer in An Evening with Jason Robert Brown at Cooper Union.  Regional credits include Songs for a New World, Closer Than Ever, Come Back to the Five and Dime Jimmy Dean Jimmy Dean, Working, Guys and Dolls, Tooth of Crime, Once Upon a Mattress, Servant of Two Masters and more.
